M/Y Royal Emperor was built in 1997/1998 by divers for divers. At a spacious 31 metres, and sleeping up to 16 guests, she is perfect for discerning individuals and smaller groups wishing to explore the Sudan's remote reefs. Refurbished in 2007, with an extra 2 metres added to the dive deck.

 

The tastefully appointed accommodation comprises of eight, spacious en suite twin cabins with individually controlled A/C.The spacious saloon and dining room is fully air-conditioned and equipped with a full entertainment centre including TV, DVD, CD and sound system. Books, magazines and DVDs are available for your enjoyment as well as a light-table for slides.

 

A large sun deck with padded chairs and wicker furniture, provides ample shade in which to relax or socialize. An upper sun deck with chaise lounges attracts guests who wish to soak up the sun.

 

The spacious dive deck features individual dive stations with comfortable seating section and dive kit storage. All tanks are filled in situ so once your equipment is set up all you have to do is dive! Open cupboard spaces are provided allowing you to leave dry towels for when you return from your dive. The large dive platform features fresh water tanks and rinse showers. Divers are ferried to the drop zone in two 5.5m RIBs.

Diving in Sudan is often referred to as "off-shore" diving at reefs with steep, spectacular walls, intact wrecks and Cousteau's Con-shelf project. Tides and currents hardly exist and the visibility is fantastic.
