Education Emergency First Response (EFR)    

 


 

The Emergency First Response course is a one day course in basic first aid and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation). The course is designed for divers and non-divers alike, and although not diving specific is a pre-requisite for the PADI Rescue Diver course.

 

The course comprises topics covering Primary Care and Secondary Care. It is a hands on course covering theory and practical work, working on manikins and your fellow course participants.

 

Topics covered include, Primary Assessment, One Rescuer CPR, Airway Obstruction, Control of Bleeding, Shock Management, Illness Assessment and Injury Assessment. There is also an option for learning about Emergency Oxygen Administration.

Course outline

The course takes approximately 6 hours of classroom work, including video, instructor presentations, practical demonstrations and scenarios. As much as is logistically possible course dates and times can be arranged to fit around peoples busy schedules.
